1 Peter 4:12-13, 16,19
12) Beloved think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
The Webster dictionary defines try as: to attempt, to put to a servere test
*Know that before God allows me to give it to you all; He first gives it to me. The trials and storms that come in our life is not to set us back, but to push us forward....we often look at our situation and that's what we focus on....but the trials and storms that come are temporary and we have God on our side, so what the enemy means for your bad God will make it for your good. See one thing we have to remember we have an all knowing God....before the trials and storms come He already knows...and He's with us when we go through.
If there was no trials and storms in life; how many of us would really lean and depend on God.....
13) But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's suffering; that when His glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
*Lord I just say thank You.......we are partakers of what Jesus went through on Calvary...this is why one of the fruits of the spirit is to longsuffer....but we have to look at our best example, because although He was persecuted, lied on, spit on....He didn't say a word. Although the storms of life often cause us to want to mummur and complain...God will not only justify you and I; He will comfort us as well.
16) Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf
*That's why my motto is: "I will not compromise the word of God, for God I live and for God I die" Doesn't matter what I go through in life it will never compare to what Jesus went through for me. And glory be to God when they come against you, turn feelings off...it's not you, but the Jesus in you. I told a sister the other day; if the name Jesus makes the demons tremble....imagine what they do when they see Him in you....... {alright now I know someone is shouting on that one}
19) Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
*Now re read that.....suffer according to the will of God; sometimes the suffering we go through is because of our own disobedince....but when you suffer for Christ sake......my my my.......
