James 5:6-10
But He giveth more grace. Wherefore He saith, "God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resit the devil, and he will flee from you.
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up.
The Webster dictionary defines humble: as submission; lowly and meek, with out pride.
We don't have to always understand, in order to be obedient to God. We often worry about man; who can not promise us a heaven or a hell, but how come we don't worry about God? We so much want to point the finger and say what this person is doing wrong and how this person is, but what is God saying and thinking about you? I am learning that it's not enough to know the word, and preach the word, and try and live the word.....you also need to have the mind of Christ, Jesus walked this earth in the flesh; and He showed love and compassion no matter where He went, even though He was better than anyone, He never said those words, or acted prideful.
Just because you been through some things and you may know a few things, does not mean you know everything.....if we don't take the time to "humble" ourselves before God and man, we are going to miss out on so many blessings....see the devil is not going to tell you to be humble, it's something he lacked; he's going to try and whisper in your ear that it's ok to operate in pride and conceit, and arrogance, I am here to tell you it's not. God wants 100% from us; 99 won't do.
God told me the other day to remind His people to return to their first love.......is God really your first love? We ask Him for so many things, yet we can't even be obedient and humble ourselves in the Commandments He has given us.......stop thinking God has forsaken you, when truly we aren't obedient to what God tells us to do. Some of us God has told you, to STAND STILL; and your still moving. Some of us God has said this one means you no good; and you still holding on to them. Some of us God said be quiet and you still running your mouth. Some of us God said move and you stayed. We ask God to get us out of debt, but we don't want to sacrifice our way of living to make it happen. We want to be blessed and anointed but no one wants to endure.
Take the time to really get a relationship with Jesus, you will see that even when people betrayed Him and denied Him, and talked about Him; He was still always humble. If we truly want to be like Christ, we better learn how to get in "true relationship with Him".
When are we going to really get this.....we get mad when the man or woman of God comes and let's us know where we are falling short. Why???? It is not enough anymore to go to church 7 days a week and there's still no change; you read the word of God but you pick out the things you want and the rest doesn't apply to you????; because God knows your heart. Don't you know we have an enemy waiting at the front door; and he is literally trying to kill you and he will use who ever he needs to, to get you off the straight and narrow road to Christ. It's time out for playing.....
1 Peter 5:6
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.
If the devil cannot make you puffed up by pride, he will try to dampen your spirit by discouragement. It's his best tool!
