But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.

 

It's easy to love those that are lovable; it's even easier to love someone when they love you back. But, can you love them when they are your enemy? I use to think you treat me good I will treat you better, but you treat me bad and I will treat you worse. This in not the mentality that God wants any of us to carry. And Jesus was the best example how to love your enemies in spite of themselves; Judas betrayed Jesus, and Peter denied Him, yet He still had love for both these men.

 

Now I am not going to do like most and act like I've always done this because I have not, it's hard in this fleshly body to want to love someone who you know is so against you. But when I became not only a season woman, but a mature saint, I started to understand why this is so important. See when someone is loving you there's really no big test, it's something easy to do. But when you have to step outside your comfort zone, when you have to humble yourself and go to God and ask Him to not only help you to love your enemy, then you have to really pray for them sincerely....my my my how many of us are really up to this kind of challenge? I use to think that I was doing just fine, till I was placed in a situation where I was face to face with my enemy....now my flesh says, tell em off, fight, but my spirit man that overrides my flesh, says what would Jesus do.....make no mistake I do not try to even pretend I am like Christ, but everyday I put my best foot forward to strive and be like Christ. See when you have love for your enemy that could be one more soul you can help to win them over to Christ. It's not about feelings, it's about what God wants us to do. When you go into prayer for your enemy, take how you feel, out of it, and really pray for them, some are really lost and have no clue, others have gotten so far away that the enemy has their mind. God has given us all the greatest gift....and that is LOVE. I could not write this message a while back, until God showed me how to really love, pass how I feel. I can now pray for my enemies and still love them, because I know in the end it doesn't matter who said what and who did what, what matters, is will I allow the enemy to not let me make it in, because I could not find it in my heart to forgive and love the way God instructed me to love. If you say you are of God, and He dwells in you, the love of God should take over, and you should be able to not only pray for your enemy, but love your enemy. For the devil likes to make us think it's a particular person but the Word of God says:

 

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

 

Luke 6:22

Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast your name as evil, for the Son's of man's sake.

 

God knows all about it, just make sure you love your enemies pass your feelings.
