I had a sista ask me when was Gods leaders gonna start teaching not just preaching about temptation....well anyone who really knows me knows that I love to teach Gods word and break it down so even a child can comprehend.....so I began to read and study and ask a few people some questions and I was surprised that many saints feel God has tempted them. I was also surprised to hear so many saints let me know they tried to come to church to "escape" the temptation in the world and found it worse in the church.....my my my
The Webster dictionary defines temptation: to entice, to be attractive to; provoke.
I want to clear one thing up and come against the Spirit of Error and loose the Spirit of Truth.....God does not tempt man.......the word of God says:
James 1:13
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil neither tempteth he any man.
*See there is a war going on against the spirit and the flesh and the flesh has it's own lust, and desires and the spirit man is constantly trying to keep that flesh under subjection to the Word of God. *
James 1:14 & 15
But every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Lust is a sexual craving; any overwhelming craving
Desire is to long for; crave, a wish, sexual appetite.
*See the devil is mad because he don't want this to come out he rather Gods people continue to commit adultery and fornication, and lust and stay in bondage. Some say we give the devil to much credit but I think we often underestimate him there's a difference in being aware of his schemes oppose to giving him power..... you have to remember saved or not the enemy has been studying you for a very long time....why do you think he comes to us with the same thing he just camouflages it well. The devil is not playing with us he is set out to DEMOLISH Gods people the Bible says:
John 10:10
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy........
Steal: to effect secretly, to take without right or permission.
Kill: to put to death not just in the natural but also the spirit
Destroy: to ruin, to demolish, to kill
*We have to be the ones that say I am not going to sin against You God; no matter how much my flesh wants to give in.......after you read this you will be tempted in some way....every ones temptations are different, some are tempted by sex, some with alcohol, some with drugs, whatever the temptation is there's no Big Sin and small sin.... no matter the temptation God has given us away to escape that temptation*......
1 Corinthians 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
James 1:12
Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him.
*We have to learn how to become mature saints in the situation of temptation so we can start helping others. Know that victory over trials brings blessings {yes someone can preach that one.....smile}When we really start praying and searching the scriptures we will find the answers that we are searching for, I encourage you to really read James 1:12 & 1 Corinthians 10:13 and ask God for the revelation of
Deut. 8:16:
Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end.....
