God has been dealing with me about knowing not only who He is in me; but what purpose people play in my life. He gave me the example of a TREE; some will be a root to me, some branches, and some leaves; be mindful that God is the soil that I have been planted in. Now the definition of root is: the foundation of anything; something planted firmly; and a branch is a division or subdivision of the stem or axis of a tree; and leaves is any similar or corresponding lateral outgrowth of a stem. See everyone is not going to be rooted, some will branch off, and some will fall off.....depending what the season is; just like in the natural when the different seasons come, the tree looks different; in the fall the leaves turn a different color and they fall off; in the winter they are no longer their; in the spring they start growing and come summer they are big, green, and beautiful; the roots remain, some branches will break and some will stay on the tree, but the leaves come and they go. See we sometimes try to hold on to those who God is trying to have us let go; they have finished their course and sometimes we try to enroll them when they are suppose to be moved on; everybody is not going to be rooted in you,  everybody is not going to be able to stay, some branches are going to be stronger than others, and leaves serve a purpose but for a season, this is why it's so important to know your season as well as your tree.

 

She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her; and happy is every one that retaineth her.

 

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

 

A wholesome tongue is a tree of life; but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.

 

Whoso keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: so he that waiteth on his master shall be honored

 

I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, and the pine tree, and the box tree together.

That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath received.
